Call For YA Test Readers

Want to read my book for free? Would you like to get a signed copy when it comes out, also for free? Would you like to have your name appear in the book, on the acknowledgments page? Would you like to get a letter for your college resumes that said you helped an author get his first novel out to the world?

If you answered yes to any of those, then keep reading.

So many of you have followed the evolution of “Season On the Brink” from an idea, to an actual book. I'm excited to say that my draft is complete, and now I'm looking for some help from young readers. Sorry parents, I know a lot of you are looking forward to reading it, and you'll get your chance. I will share a Google doc of the draft with 10 readers between the ages of 13 and 19-years-old. What's the catch?

The catch is that I need your feedback. What did you think of the story? Is the content strong, and consistent? This story is about teenagers dealing with real problems, the biggest of their lives. It is based on real life kids and real life situations. You are living this life and I want this book to ring clear with your age group. I want it to be relevant to the lives you are living.

Test readers will be chosen by January 25. This offer is limited to 10 people, and please serious inquries only. If you submit for a spot, please promise that you will read the book.

Email your interest to richardmaclone@gmail.com with a sentence or two of why you want to read it. I will also accept interest submissions from Twitter and Instagram. On both my handle is @therichmaclone. I can also be reached on Facebook.

The only catch is that you must have a Gmail address that I can share the document with, and the deadline is February 22. On that date I need to get an email with your thoughts, comments and feeling about the story. All of your submissions will be taken into consideration for edits and amendments before the final draft is finalized. I believe that “Season On the Brink” is very good. With your help it can be even better.
